Backing up a bit, I asked if everything was in order, that includes the Power Valve. The '07s sure as hell should have a dual map CDI. IF everything else checks out, I wonder if you could have a CDI from a 250/300 by mistake. The ignition curves are softer on the bigger bikes and would make the 200 feel like a dud. I know because the old XC250s used 200 CDIs for more snap, and it was a big difference from the older EC250 CDIs. A CDI from an '00 XC250 really woke up my '03 EC250. Cruiser here had similar results.

Don't get so hung up on dyno numbers, they are all over the map depending on the dyno and conditions. If the bike is running that bad you will know it when its fixed.

Glenn, I dont give a toss what the dyno prints out, it just confirmed that it has been underpowered from new, MY 07' EC200 DID NOT come delivered to me with a dual map switch, it seems that the 200 is different to the 250 / 300 in as much as it doesnt have the reed spacer or the map switch.
Cheers

200s in most places did come with a Dual-mapped ignition, and some 250s did not have a reed spacer as well.

To be safe pull the part # off the ignition to see if it is a CDI or ignition for a 250 or 300.

Also, what ignition do you have (2k2 or 2k3)?

Hi guys, just checked the number on the CDI ME250634007 is this the correct one for the 200 ? also checked my owners handbook which shows the dual map switch....but not fitted ? thanks for all your help. Glenn, the power valve is fully opening but not sure at what revs it starts to open ( should be 1400rpm )
Cheers

That part # matched the 2006 CDI NOT the 2007 which is ME250534007. Might want to check into that or have someone else with a 07 200 look at theirs or an 08 even which is the same.

EDIT...07 parts diagram has it listed in 2 different spots with different #'s. NICE huh. One matches the number you gave and the other matches the one I listed. Who knows???

200/250/300 all use the same CDI according to the GG Spain parts diagrams. That just doesn't seem right to me. Wonder if a KTM 125 or 200 CDI would work? Same ignition.

Well I know you can go to a 200 CDI and get a much more aggresive power on a EC250. So they can not be the same and the Gofasters site has different #s.

If the button is not equiped then it might just be a plug near the tank, CDI, headlight area somewhere. Just like the KTMs.

Where do you get part #'s on the Go Fasters site? I see none, just descriptions of the parts in the fiche.

At this point you might want to check your static ign timing, on the 250 I run 1.5 mm btdc
