I would guess that a major flip with that would still allow you to ride out, but the air box integrity would be questionable. This is just speculation assuming alloy upper rails, and knowing how it all fits together as I've had mine all apart, perhaps they changed other stuff as well.

I believe most of the problem can be fixed with an inner fender design and compound change. The guys who designed this must have been the same who did the cartridge filter air box.

Thanks for your feed back, that makes sense to me. I hope they come up with some better in the future that will fit this bike.

It's completely alloy, the down tube has a plastic cover that looks like the plastic frame , the same two bolt setup as the plastic. Initially I thought the same. I'll take some pics today.

I would try contacting Motocrosscenter.
The last time I ordered from them they informed me that they can usually get any GG part if you give them a part #.

You need to have a current passport if you order from motocrosscenter.

Being I'm stuck with this bike for awhile I'm looking into a solution to catastrophic failure by shortening the inner fender and reinforcing the rear of the subframe rails. The hand holds make things difficult. Problem is without a spare inner I have to plan the mod carefully before I cut, like surgery!

A quick and dirty pre-emptive strike might be to partially cut the inner fender, so it's weaker and snaps off before taking the family with it. And get rid of that pig muffler, or at least shorten it. At least you could ride out then.

Did anyone get a price? It's nuts that a dealer in Spain can airfreight them so fast and cheaper than our own chain. I'll bet the thing is crazy $$.

I really think the factory should help on this one. It's a clear design flaw, and the alloy part is the second attempt at a fix, first being different plastic compound parts so I'm told. This is big $$ parts, and if you break the plastic subframe your out of riding for weeks. Unacceptable.

Why can Beta airfreight bikes and parts, while Mark has to hitch a ride on a freighter for a container? And cheaper too! Beta subframe was listed at something like 70 Euros. Ducati too for that matter, from Italy in days!
