Thumbs up GasGas E-start video

While at the GasGas factory last month I shot a little video of the pre-production e-start models as they were being tested before shipping.

Nice! I kick started my new 300 a few times yesterday during break-in and it wasn't hard but that e-start..truly is the easy button. Thanks for posting I was wondering how it would work.

Works just like the starter on my 1971 bmw r60/5. Push the starter button, and it starts.

This new technology is great!

that is just so gaudy! it needs to be smaller, and tucked in out of the way somewhere. although it would be nice to have 12v dc with no mods.
we need to see a video of it starting that easy after a few hours of hard riding too, when its nice and hot!

As a whole the bikes e-started without any incident once fuel was to the carb.

The battaries where fresh out of the box with no additional "trickle" charging. Occcasionally they got run down a bit from all of the "test starting" where the "index gear" would not engage on the first try but they always started via the "button."

I would admit that the starter is a little overkill and I would suspect that it is the same one that is used on the 450/515 4-strokes as GasGas is not one to specify a whole new "part" and another "part number" when one already exists.

Fires up nice and easy just like with the kick starter.

Thanks for the vid. The bikes look pretty goofy with out front fenders. Those license plates are huge, you get some mud stuck to it and it would probably break the fender. I'm envious though wish I could plate my bike.

The bike's extra long license plate holder is a Euopean thing as the fender (and/or the licenses plate holder) have to stick out further than the rear tire. (Ever notice the "bumper" that covers the rear well of a lot of Euro street bikes.)

The license holder, or drop down, can be cut to trimmed to the length where it only has enough mass to only hold the taillight lens/assembly.

As well as missing the front fender the motorcycle in the video also doesn't have any foot pegs as these are in the way during shipping. All of these items are included in the crate.

Looks like the kill button is on the back side of the bar and the starter button is where the kill button normally resides. That seems backwards to me and would really screw me up.

If the switches are of the same style/type. You can just flip flop the wires.
