Looks like motorcycle version of my Piaggio MP3. Fun and weird, that's for sure. Exactly like riding a motorcycle (scooter in my case), yet entirely different.

But why? I would think it is less maneuverable than two wheels and in the one photo it still needs a kickstand.

It's more stable under braking, you can turn over bumps that would cause concerns with a two-track motorcycle. The MP3 has locking front suspension (electromechanical) so you can push a button and walk away. Or push a button and never put your feet down. Even though it leans it's still more stable than a motorcycle.

And regarding why? Why not? It's nice to see a company take risks, and if it gets more people on motorcycles, and helps promote bikes as basic transportation instead of secondary (or even lower status), then I'm all for it.

But that Yamaha does look weird, that's for sure.

Looks like a way to make a motorcycle heavier and more complicated. Yay.

I really do enjoy my new 2016 Piaggio MP3 with the 2 front wheels And 500cc . The pros are great traction in fast sweeping turns . The trucks do not blow me around on the highway near as bad , it wieghs 600 pounds ! At a stop I lock the front end and no need to put my feet down . The step through design is great for this old man . Great big seat for the wife and I with lots of storage under the seat . I have a great dealer near me same as my GasGas dealer Bud at Mattos . The guy who bought it new sold it for $4600. with 147 miles on it ! It is a handfull at slow speeds , as far as maintence I really am not worried since life is short .
