Yeah...it has! But when the stress starts to build and my left arm starts hurting...I found the cure for what ails me, and puts a smile back on my face.

I go ride my motorcycle

thks for the insight Rod, and hopefully the factory will one day start up and start churning out bikes again, as it would be a shame to lose the brand completely!

well a much as some like to hate ktm, i for one would be thrilled if they took gasgas under their wing. it's as good and as strong a corporation as exists in the dirtbike world today. they didn't get to be where they are by being fools, and producing poor motorcycles! Just speculation, but they already have all the bikes that gasgas competes against, so maybe they are looking to capture some segments of the market that would not normally buy a ktm?
I've ridden gasgas and ktm's for years, they are both great bikes, just different, but still miles ahead of the jap stuff.
i do hope that this rumour does come to be!

I too would like this. It would make getting parts much easier for me. Getting gasser parts in Canada isn't all that easy.

If I was to guess, I think KTM wouldn't focus on the enduro model gassers as KTM already has the enduro market sales. I think they would be more interested in the trials models imo.

If KTM take it over you can forget about ever getting parts for any bike they didn't make
Just look at the poor service they give to older Husqvana model owners

A good friend of mine has a 2007 husqvarna (Italian) and he gets his parts through KTM without any hassle.

Interesting.

I hope MV doesnt get it. They drove Husqvarna into the financial perils before BMW bought it. MV isnt flush with cash right now either. Their bikes are not selling and the investment from MB is long gone.

I would have to assume that the Israeli investors are still trying their hardest to get the company back and try to recoup the investment they made a few years ago.

My gut says KTM buys it, moves the production unit to India and sells the factory to Sherco, who in turns moves trials production and parts distribution there from their factory in Spain. This scenario keeps all parties somewhat happy. Company is sold, bank gets some money and the workers keep their jobs.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if the successful buyer is someone not well known in the industry.
