Default CDI - Test? - Replacement?

Hi guys, if you check my "engine sputtering" post you will see that I've come down to the belief that my CDI is knackered.

Does anyone know how to test these CDIs?

Does anyone know how to repair these CDIs?

Does anyone know where a universal CDI can be bought?

Jd racing Italy ( not to be confused with jd jetting USA) make cdi units for gas gas infact gasgas have started using them across the board from 2013 (and 2012 race)

Try motocroscenter.com. They might be able to source it cheaper.

Carmo.nl tested an obscure (honda crm) cdi I was working on a while back. Looks like they do repairs and modifications too. Turnaround was reasonable, about 2 weeks posted uk > nl > uk and cost was about 70 GBP, I think.

Would I be right in thinking the cdi are the same for most european 2 strokes (ktm/tm/husky) around that age ?

As above, KTM use the same Kokusan ignition and CDI as gasgas', the CDIs use the same plug. The maps will be slightly different but it is probably easier to find a KTM one to borrow to try.

http://www.hpi.be/ also has complete ignition systems and sells separate CDI-boxes. Think i will buy from them if my CDI turns out to be bad..
