Yeah.. It's lots of fun playing with those 2stroke engines, and then the satisfaction of knowing that you did it yourself

Would like to try the difference between the counterbalanced engine and the nonbalanced of today, I am also on my first(and 2nd) Gasser (It's like an addiction), so I never experienced the counterbalanced engine, just wanna see what all the fuzz is about..

Default Project El Diablo is born

Today has been a very productive day today, I helped out a fellow member on this site henrik schmidt by picking up a sherco trials bike engine which I will send over to him in denmark.

Here's the painted swingarm with new bearings!!
I managed to get a whole new set of linkage bearings which Im happy about, just like the swingarm bearings that came out there were absolutely knackered.

And finally after a long wait for me 'El Diablo' was born here are some pics of it's present state, now I really want to get cracked on a ride it.

Keep an eye on the project and see the finished bike which will be much better than the 600 bike I bought.

Can't wait to ride it

Default little by little

Well I've got the the engine in and subframe on, cleaned up the ohlins and mounted it up, just waiting for some bloody washers from gas gas uk for the suspension linkage so I can bolt that up to the frame and swinger.

I need to get a new chain roller for the frame and chain tensioner for the swing arm then thats finished off.

I dont know how long the paint will stay on the frame and swinging arm but will still look ok against red/white plastics.

I also had a bit of time to paint the front caliper & rear caliper carrier in the same gold as the forks, I'm impressed with the results cos they looked tired but after a can of 3 pounds gold paint they look like brand new again,I'm going to spray some high temp clear lacquer that I bought to spray my exhaust with so the paint doesn't flake off.

The gold caliper carrier will look smart against the black swing arm.

Default Fork Protectors

The original paioli fork protectors are around 60 quid for some new ones, originally they looked a really dirty off white,so I've primed them up and just started a white top coat and lacquer.

All in all will cost me about 6.00 to paint them back to new.

BTW I know the side stand is silver I had it made up it's galvanised steel so I have to get special paint for it.
