Default Ironman GNCC race - advice

I am signing up for the Ironman GNCC race in Crawfordsville, Indiana this October.

Curious if anyone out there has ever raced in the GNCC format, especially this
particular race, and if so, what advice/thoughts/recommendations you have.

Training, terrain, bike mods, tires, etc..

Also, if anyone is also planning on hitting this race, I'd love to hook up at Indiana.

FAST!!! And the ironman will have close to 1,000 bikes in the a.m. race. The ironman raceway is getting pretty beat up and the course will deteriorate quickly. What class will you run? I will see you there

I think that class rides in the afternoon race. Right? 3 hours of some of the biggest braking and acceleration bumps you could ever imagine. Make sure your suspension is dialed and when you hear this ungodly noise coming behind you GET OUT OF THE WAY or Kaliub Russell will run you over. Lol

Wait. The super senior class rides the morning race so it will be way more fun. Track is in better shape and you don't have to worry about getting run over by an orange freight train

Ride as many hare scrambles as you can up to two weeks before. Hydrate every day. Get there day before. Takes forever to get into and out of these things. No matter how nice your rig is, compared to the one to your left and the one to your right, you are poor trash. So be ready to explain how your diesel pusher is in the shop. Be aware that the atmosphere is way more serious. Spectators dont move out of your way getting to inspection etc. Great experience. But, I much prefer the smaller, funner MSXC or SORCS series.

That about sums it up! Lol. If you want to have some real fun racing check out the 2 national enduros that will be in Indiana this year. Much more laid back and an absolute ton of fun

Like brad said, if your going to drive all the way from tx for a blowed out gncc just ride some enduros if your going to spend that much money and time. Atleast get some kinda enjoyment outta it.
