Adding a rec/reg to 2011....

I've had a battery fitted my to 2011 and was working OK for a while I seem to only get a few months out of the battery.

I have a universal 5wire 2 phase rec reg fitted. Voltage out was going up over 20v so it has failed.

Just wanting to check my wiring as it did work OK when fitted.

Dc out and sense wire are fitted to the battery and hid via an isolated set of cables.
I have the ac inputs connected to white wire from stator and a frame earth.
I read that the yellow and white cannot be connected as they are out of phase. So I should be getting the full unregulated ac output via the white into my rec/reg?

Does this seem correct?
