Cleaning barrels and powervavles
hi folks, im currently doing a top end rebuild on my EC250, looking for tips and tricks on how to get the barrel and powervalve parts all cleaned up nice. i have heard of using a dishwasher on cases, but not on barrels. ( idont have a dishwasher but was thinking a bucket of water with dishwashing powder).

The dishwasher did sweet FA to the dirt stains on my cases. It sometimes struggles to clean baked on food to dishes. I doubt it would do anything to carbon and spooge.
I found gasket stripped, oven cleaner, and carb cleaner all work really well. I can of carb cleaner will really just wash away any spooge. For harder carbon the other two work. A good abrasive pad (steel wool) and some elbow grease brings it up nice, especially after the chems have softened up the deposits. |
