New member, aftermarket goodies recomended?

Hi folks, 99% sure I am going to pick up a 2011 EC300 (non race) tomorrow. I intend on also purchasing EE bark busters, EE rad guards, Hyde skidplate, JD jet kit, seal savers & rear disk guard. Anything else that is strongly recomended to get these units bush ready? Any other good aftermarket bits and bobs that are strongly recomended for these models? I typically ride challenging (for me) single track in the Alberta rockies and fall....alot.

The chain guide looks a little suspect, I also searched and could not find any low seat options, Im about 3" taller than a Hobbit, may have to shave that baby down.

Still on the fence about full Rekluse, wish they had a EXP option for the GasGas, cheating? kinda, ever ride without one again? Probably no.

I have spent a few days lurking around here and this looks like a great website, looking forward to sharing some experiences.

Last time I owned a two stroke I didnt have a drivers license, so I am looking forward to learning a new bike.

Good purchase

Hyde bash plates are hard to fit and mine broke in 30hrs. The noise with an aluminium plate is minimal. Seal savers ruin your nice dlc or chrome coated fork legs to save 50 buck seals. The chain guide works but is hard on chains, the Regina chain the bike comes with is strong so wait till you change it before getting a TMDESIGNS chain guide. Factor in a fork revalve. Get correct springs front and rear for your weight.

Get the squish set by rb designs (cheap and good)

The front tire is great, the rear is ok except for mud and will last 8 hrs.

Welcome, the bergs are nice, but once you are used to the lack of engine braking you won't look back.

If you need to shave the foam on your seat, consider shaving it enough so you add some memory foam, for additional comfort.

where you at I mostly ride crows nest pass sometimes the porkys . Maybe we can go for a ride this summer

No need for a JD jet kit, there are some good threads that will get your jetting right, and to avoid the headache I had I would replace the handlebar mounted choke with a STD carb mount

If you are going to fit a steering damper then rather go for the fastways fit handguards with damper mount they do not restrict you to running in the rear handlebar position (only scotts position available)

Otherwise checkpoint have some bling parts and gofasters also

The GG is lower than your berg and also you going to battle trying to shave the seat since the fuel tank fits under it (which is why it has no foam) ... Need to stand more!!

Thanks guys, I did pick one up. Only other option I added is my local shop modifies the KTM PHDS system to work on the GG, take a bit of buzz out of the bars. Looking forward to learning the ins and outs of this bike. JMD, I am in Cowtown. Ride mostly Maclean and Waip.
