Default Fuel Mixture help

Hi all

Love my 2011 GASGAS EC 300, however I wanted to know once and for all what sort of mixture I should be running.

I know the manual says 50:1 but is only when using fully synthetic oil?

Whats the recommended mix if you using the following.

Mineral based oil....

Semi Synthetic....

Fully Synthetic....

Appreciate the help.

That is like asking what is the best flavor ice cream and how much should I eat?

Do a search on "premix" and or "ratio" and you will find lots of info and opinions.

I like Klotz R50 at 40:1 for general riding and 32:1 for hard high rpm riding.

I have also used it at R50 at 50:1 with no problems.

Boysenberry ripple.

Find a decent brand & stick to it. Don't be tempted by these specials of unknown brand. Needs a reasonable contrast to vanilla to berry. Not sure what ratio that would be.

These are my personal maximums for each type of oil in general. When it comes to any specific oil say Motol 800 I never mix it at a ratio higher that recommended by that oil manufacturer. I've been running Amsoil Saber at 75/1 for 2 years now (it's good for ratios up to 100/1) and just now doing my first top end at 200 hours. The cylinder looks awesome. I'm very happy with it.

Mineral based oil.... 32/1

Semi Synthetic....43/1

Fully Synthetic....50/1

Amsoil @ between 45:1 to 52:1 depending on when the gas pump goes to the nearest quarter. I also mix half race gas 107octane.

Cookies & cream is a difficult one. Those little bits can get soggy which spoils the effect somewhat.

Here in New Zealand our national favourite is HokeyPokey, which is vanilla with crunchy bits of caramel. Some people get quite serious about the ratio of hokeypokey:ice cream so the TipTop factory employs some fairly high tech methods to achieve consistency.
