Too much snow is like riding a mud fest (slot car racing). Too little snow and your $450 tires get trashed.
2"-4" of old, hard snow/ice...with spikes...is better than dirt. Even I feel fast in those conditions.
I did it the winter of 2010 and it was great. It was as cold as hell (14?F) at the start, but the ground and snow was frozen solid. Traction was awesome and it was a ton of fun.

Power is back, but I have not had time to prep anything yet. Bike was used as a fuel tank. camper battery is dead and it has a close to a foot of snow on it yet as it sits in the shade. Lots of work to do. Honestly, I'm beat from the week, and not into all the extra work at this point. I'd just like to come and ride Sunday, but my buddy is counting on me so I'll see what I can get done.

That sucks for sure Glenn, just glad your power has been restored. Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday at a minimum!

Boomhauer....good advice on Brooks! I talked to him last night. He was in FL. He left his family up there to deal with the snow. Not really....he had to work with the KTM RSM in FL.
Billy tells me he is going to try to qualify for 6 Days this year so he is going to ride at least the two National Enduros that are also qualifiers. I'd be glad to help him with a bike even though he's a cheap sob and will beat me up for deals. Just kidding, Billy!
You two guys know you're my favorite Yankees!

I have not done the Snow Run, but I know a lot of folks that have and everyone absolutely loves it. Yes even Brooks told me so. They all say if the conditions are right it is a blast.

Someday I'll fork out the money for a set of studded tires. I tried snow once without them and it wasn't pretty. Nothing says kidney plant like solid ice under fluffy snow.
