Default Trail Tech temp sensor

Another curiosity on my part. Been doing some searches on where to put the trail tech temp sensor and came across people have issues with a faulty stock sensor. Is that faulty sensor the plastic piece in the radiator line on the right side of the bike sitting on it? If so how is it a sensor? Mine has no wires or any other connections to it. Curious as to how it works. Since I see people talking about removing it, I was going to swap it with the trail tech. Any issues with that? Is that indeed the stock temp sensor? Thanks all!

Right side rad hose = thermostat (mechanical device).
I removed the thermostat since it didn't seem to do anything.
My bike always operates around 130*F.
I put my Trailtech temperature probe in the left side rad hose.

Its not a sensor. It is a thermostat. And that is where I put mine temp sensor. I just cut the clamps and removed the thermostat and stuffed the TT temp sensor in place of it. The thermostat has been know to break and dump all of your coolant so it is a good idea to eliminate it.

Excellent. That is what I thought. So if there are no wires or anything how does it operate or do? I think this is where I will put my TT also, save a couple clamps.
