Default 07 300 clutch noise or groan

Hey Guys,
Just wondering whether it is normal on the 07 300 for there to be a fair bit of clutch noise when clutch lever is out.
When clutch is engaged the noise is much quieter.
Also is there a quick fix for a kickstarter that won't stay in while riding.(is it the usual spring and ball bearing setup or something different.... I have'nt actually had a good look at it yet.
Cheers guys.

My clutch makes the same noise.

Yes. It's the usual ball bearing/spring in the kick starter. My guess is the ball bearing or spring is missing.

Thanks Eff, I have very little time to play around with the bike unfortunately as I have two small kids. Any time saved is a help.Do you know why it makes the noise by the way?
Cheers Mark

Some of the '07 clutch baskets had some mismachined finger fillets that would cause a noise.
I don't have the exact details, maybe Berkyboy can fill us in.

No, I have three small kids. LOL!

I'm not sure but I do recall others stating that theirs make some noise. Mine is an '04 however.

Spend some time on a dry clutch Ducati, the GasGas will seem like the inside of a Mercedes.

Its all normal noise, from tolerances being taken up during the engine power pulses. If you run an alloy skid plate, it will reflect a lot of the engine noise upward to the rider making it sound worse than it is.

Cheers guys,
I was fairly sure it was nothing to be worried about but thought it's better to be safe than sorry.

my '07 300 makes that rattle + it also makes a lot of noise when slipping the clutch, but I've decided not to worry about it until it stops.

best fix I found for the kick starter was to replace it w/a Yam 1, about $55.

only 1 small kid for me, but he is a busy little dude who doesn't sleep much, so I'm claiming that he counts for 3.
