it should fit. I fitted the newer cover to my 2010 and all i had to do was trim down the spout that directs oil into the clutch hub, otherwise everything lined up

Hmm, I have Rekluse cover on there currently. I would much rather have this new one.

Is this cover thicker (stronger) than the OEM ?

Yes. Made from billet aluminum.

Got the cover on. First time since 1998 riding Gas Gas', that I've been able to fill the transmission in 10 seconds.
