Default Installing new Air Filters

Is it just me or is installing a air filter in my 04 EC200 an absolute pain in the butt? No joke i spent 25mins trying to get cage and all back in. Does anyone else have problems.

Nathan

I think it's just you.
Try taking the seat off, there's more room to turn the wing nut.

I took the wing nuts to a grinder and took them down by about half to make more room.

Like gasgasman said take the seat off.

I do this on my 04 and it is way easier than that little junky side panel.

I started off by taking the seat off and then slowly working the frame onto the mounting plate, with the bolt poking through to try and line up right. After maybe 1/2 dozen go's at that and getting it right first time, i have elevated myself to being able to do it through the little door and even manage that first try now.

Get some practise with the seat off and you will be sweet.

If for no other reason, I would take the seat off to better clean the airbox. On my '03 I just used the door for checking the filter.
