Default new ring break in

so my adventure in top end rebuilding has boiled down to just installing new rings ... Is there any break in procedure for just installing new rings? Just get on it an go ... or do the same breaking you'd do if everything was fresh??

here's another question....
How important is it to get the ring ends dead nuts square when adjusting. I did the adjustment w/a small 3 sided file with the largest number of points i could find. I put the file in the vise and than ran the ring over it a couple times on each end. Under a magnifying glass you can see it is not square but it is not "too bad" either .. doesn't come to a sharp point or anything stupid like that .... but not dead nuts square either

dude you should honestly stop messing around with it!!!! seriously, your rings ends arent supposed to be square, they fit around the pins in the ring lands, they need to be a half circle shape to fit tight in the piston pins!!! your end gap on the rings should be close enough from the box,I put in my piston and rings and raced it with maybe two minutes of idle time on it,if your not doing the cylinder over your probably going to be all set with some easy riding for a half hour or so

Thats easy for you to say ... you know what your doing!! Actually I meant the ring end gap. the "directions" that came with the rings gave a suggested end gap and my end gap was tighter than that spec. So i had to file a bigger gap. guess it's time to put it together and see if it runs!!!
