Default PV adj. made motor run flat

We adjusted the PV on both bikes. The '08 seems to hit extremely hard low-blast like a rocket thru midrange-then flatens out. Feels like there should be more pull coming, but doesnt. I have to say though, its seriously fast. But we seemed to have lost the GG smooth powerband feel. Its alot like an orange bike now...
Did we go too far taking the slack out of the PV?

Sounds like it, like the PV is now preloaded closed too hard, and then snaps open, only not fully open. All you want is for the actuator to be just held to the stop bolt, no more.

Curious George here: I have the older (02) XC 250. I put on a larger PV cover to boost low and midrange, which worked great. Are the newer GGs adjustable in another way, you said it sounded like it was "preloaded closed too hard"? Is there another adjustment on my older bike I don't know about? If so I will probably have to tinker with it even though I thinks it's ok now.

Yes there is. If your bike is older Im sure it needs it. You get to it by taking off the right side cover. There is an awesome video tutorial on youtube.

@GMP: Thanks for the advice-thats what Im thinking.
