Reed Advice PLEASE

I have a 2001 Gas Gas 250 ec and recently my reeds went bad. I ordered a new set of reeds. The reeds that I had on it was a dual stage. My reed box that I have on it is a Boyseen. The gentlemen that helped me said that due to it not saying that it was a rad reed box, that all i needed was stock reeds. He order a set of reeds that would be stronger then the ones that I had, but they are not dual stage reeds. So I put them on and my bike is still acting like it has no top end. I even checked to make sure I installed the correctly. Do I need to rejet my carb or do I need to get dual stage reeds. Any advice will help.

For top end I would use Aktive multi frequencey reeds.
