Default flywheel weights kokusan generator

I'm trying to find out if anyone manufactures a flywheel weight that will fit my TM 125 mx. There isn't much information out there about modifying TMs, so I thought I'd ask here because I think that some Gas Gas models use a similar flywheel. The thread in the centre of the flywheel (that the puller uses) is M27 l/h. The flywheel has the number FP8178 on it.

Thats a 2K-1 or 2K-2 flywheel, they are the same externally across brands. If the crank thread is the same which I'd think it is, a GasGas spin on weight will go right on, if you have room under the ignition cover.

Thanks. Looking at the prices for commercially available spin on flywheels, I might just get a few machined up in different weights and try them out to see which works best. I'll have to the ignition cover for the enduro model of this bike to be able to fit a flywheel weight.

A throttle tube with a slower cam on it might be on the shopping list too.

I set up a GG 125 for my nephew with a 10 oz weight and It works great in the woods, even in the real technical sections where you don't want to be on a 125. I wouldn't bother with a G2 on a 125, most of the power is had with a hard twist anyway.

Think the TM EN models have a weight might just be able to get one from a dealer?

That's good to hear. I think a 125 set up right will be great fun, but the TM has such a strong power delivery that it will take a bit of taming down. I'll hold fire on changing the throttle until I've tried a flywheel weight.

Yes, the EN models do have a spin on magnet rotor that's part of the lighting set up (the coils are external to the rotor). I've already fitted an aftermarket lighting coil that goes under the flywheel. It would be an option, but i figure it would be cheaper to just use a plain weight and also have the option to try different weights.
