Default wr300 front end setup

going to do some motorwork to my gasgas 2010 ec300. it does not run like it should and is the pickiest bike i have ever owned as far as jetting is concerned. So my buddy owns a husky store so i picked on up for a backup bike while my GG is down and because everyone needs 2 2strokes lol. It follows ruts like crazy in sand. Any ideas what to change to mellow it out in sand short of a stabilizer? im 240 in gear, and have not touched the suspension yet. thanks for the help!

Bryan: First guess would be that the front (and likely rear, although perhaps not as much) springs are a tad to soft for you. The easiest cash-free mods will be to drop the forks in the clamps and increase the rear sag.

Instead of a stink-bug you'll have a chopper. If you want to go further you might look at adding some oil and compression to the front - still mostly free.

thanks! back end sits pretty tall now as is, so dropping the forks is probably the answer, never thought of that! when i get home ill look and see how much room i have.

I understand your pain, but I have rode for over 1 year and have not touched the jetting since the initial setup. Still no issues. Once you get it dialed in leave it!

hopefully after the RB headmod it will run like i want it to, and not be so picky with the jetting. now if i could just get the WR to go straight in the sand id be in heaven!
