Question How do I check port timing?

Hi, Im about to take the top end apart on my 02 ec300. I want to use the right base gaskets to get the port timing correct. How do I check this? also with correct port timing is there an ideal "squish" ?

.055" per squish. Good luck on the port timing. Some cylinders are quite low. If you end up needing a source for fat gaskets contact this guy.
