Gasgas EC 300 2018 power valve adjustment
Hi guys,
I have a gasgas ec300 2018, and i have seen this video regarding power valve adjustment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu3T-ctnzKY I want to ask some questions because i didn?t understand all the info. Q1: if i turn the screw all the way to the right is that the standart position? (full power?) Q2: 1.5 turns to the left(preload in the valve), the bike will rev slower? (less power sooner) edit Q3: does some one know what is the factory setting? thanks in advance. Last edited by eralha; 09-12-2018 at 06:28 AM. |

All the dolly screw does is preload tension onto the spring that acts on the governor.
Turning the screw right adds more preload, meaning more centrifugal force is required to start opening the powervalve. Valve opens later. Opposite the other way. |

I don't know if you can back the screw right out or not. I would count the turns in until it lightly seats. and that will be your tames power.

I turned the bolt all to the right and did a test run, no power at all. from that point i did 3 turns to the left, it has a good amount of power in that setting. Thanks for the help. |

The standard setting is 2 turns out.
3 turns out makes it lively, revving quick, but you will loose torque. The procedure shown in the video is wrong in my opinion, you should hold the adjuster with an allen key when tightening the lock nut. Just as it is described in your owners manual... |

hi guys. Thanks for this post it has been very useful, but I still have and issue whit this. My power valve in my ec300 2019 is working the opposite way. Let me clarify. If I turn it in (1 to 1.5turns from close to open) it revs quicker that if say I open it to more than 2 turns. 2 turns or more (from close to open) makes the bike very slow revving as like it stays forever with the PV closed.
Note. I am higher than 10.000 feet with more than 20 degrees celsious and poor gas... so I dont know if my conditions are affecting or my PV is malfunctioning. |

That's very strange as it is exactly opposite than it should be. I have done several test sessions with three Gassers (2 of them 2018 GP one of them a 2019 EC, all 300's).
I found it to be the same on all bikes. Turning the adjuster fully in (clockwise) makes them slow revving and weak. The further I turn the adjuster out (counter clockwise) the more toque the motor gets until it looses torque at about 2 turns but after that starts to rev faster until it explodes at three turns out (counter clockwise). Are you sure that you are turning in the right direction? |

Same here...I have my 19 EC300 at 1.5 turns out (counter-clockwise) for very smooth delivery. I can go to 2 turns out for a little stronger delivery.
