Thumbs up Gas Gas Quad

Saw this on craigslist.
I have no affiliation with the seller.
Looks mint.

Anybody ever ride one of these? Why did they not make it? Was it just because they were about 20 years late to the 2-stroke quad party?

If I remember correctly the quad was introduced around the time GNCC quad racing was starting to really get going....But yea.....a little late.

That is a nice quad...I bet it has a c/b motor in it?

Ah yes! 05 is when the 450 quads started showing up. So I can see where that would put the binders on a 2-stroke race quad. Our series has a 2-stroke class and it is awesome seeing and hearing 30 2 stroke quads go ripping into the first turn.

Default The smell of 2-Stroke oil/gasgas

They made them up til 2012. People in the UK and Spain drive these on the street legal with a plate. Just a few reasons it didn't make it.

#1 The 2-stroke Quad died honda phased out all production of 2-strokes and others followed now it's a dumpy 4-stroke. And that my friends is why I bought one. A GasGas 2004 Wild Hp 300ec 2-Stroke used a not to long ago.

#2 Cause Gas Gas makes the quad for drivivng at top speed on the pavement the quad is like an enduro you ride it all over. The steering makes the wheels stright down the road you fot more stability. Not something that you want for the sand and that's the best place for a quad. So when it came for the off-road reviews here in the states they said the steering was hard real exausting but could be fixed with a new set of a-arms. (not made anymore) There was no real PR for them no real hype.

There's a youtube video of one that's super yoked with an R1 motor in it.

Title youtube r1 quad gasgas 450 nu 1000cc, dikke burnouts !!

I don't think they are cb motors. They do have extra weight on the fw from what i've read. And they have reverse, also from reading the motor turns counterclock wise in this position.(reverse) weird.

quad had counterbalanced motor. And it is has uber high output lighting coil as well. Ducati lighting coil is mondo watts. Like we'll over 100 watts. I think it was like 160...

And yes that motor will bolt into dirt bike chassis.
