2010 450s

Has anyone heard of how the new 450s run, I have been debating on about switching over to a 4stroke. But I am not quite sure if I want to do that, do to I love my 2strokes. That is basicly all I have ever riden, other than my 01 KTM 520sx. What started me looking into getting 4 stroke is the new Husbergs, every where you read people are prasing on how much it runs like a 2 stroke. But I am not sure if I want to get a Husaberg do to I am loving my Gas Gas. So please let me know your thoughts.

The new Husas handling literally revolves around its new engine placement.

The Gassers are conventional in that regard and won't give you a "2-strokey" feel.

i have not riden a husaberg so can commit but the gas 450 is a good bike, what makes my mine like a 2 stroke is the lower centre of gavity and the slipper clutch which is not longer available

I've ridden both the 450 and 570 Husaberg. The motor placement does make the bike roll left and right easier than you'd expect from a heavy four-stroke. One had a Rekluse with LHRB.

I've also ridden the GG 450.

I'm not a 4T fan so I don't have much to say about the genre.

Honestly, if I was looking for a 450 or larger thumper, I'd get the Husaberg. The bike is incredible. My girlfriend's dad has the 570 and it feels just as light and flickable as my EC250, until you have to lift it. I was really close to getting a berg this year, but in the end I stuck with the two-stroke.

yeah everytime I start to think about getting a 4T I just go right back to wanting a new 2T. So I am probably going to stay with the 2Ts. Which means I will stay with the best (GAS GAS), unless KTM comes out with fuel injected 2T.

From what I've read about the new GG 450s, they are very good. Its just that the Berg is so revolutionary.

What really impressed me lately is that new Husky 250F. I didn't ride it but wow does it feel light just flipping it around the shop and picking it up. The motor is tiny and everything looks easy to work on. Wonder how they will hold up?

4 stroke or 2 stroke? A 4 stroke doesn't have lots of character and doesn't sound as beautiful as a 2 stroke, but it's a way more easier ride than a big 2 stroke which can scare the shit out of you if you're an inexperienced off road rider like me.

A few years ago i thought about buying an enduro bike and after a lot of searching i found a bike on which i could touch the ground with both feet since i'm vertically challenged. I was afraid of finding nothing since there aren't many bikes lower than 90 cm. I found a Scorpa T-ride 250f which is a very light, maneuvrable bike and with a low seat height (87 cm). It's something between a trial and an enduro power by a yamaha wr 250f engine. The engine performed well with about 30 hp but didn't really excite me when driving on road with a trail tyre. It didn't make much bottom end power so it had to be ridden between 5000 and 9000 rpm. It was a good bike for tight wood riding because it felt like a bike. I don't have it anymore because it got stolen after an accident. After 3 months i decided to buy a gas gas because it has a good reputation, low price and these bikes are nimbler, more maneuvrable and lower then any other japanese and european bikes. I went to the only official distributor in my country and saw a Gas Gas Halley 450. I sat on it and it was perfect for me. After 1 month it was delivered to my home and i still love it. It has a good and strong engine with a wide powerband: you can bog it down to 2500 rpm and it won't die easily on you like a 250 four stroke will. It's a lot heavier than my previous dirt bike but also much stabler with way better frame and suspension. I use my Halley for commuting and trail riding. I have had it for 6 months now and i'm very pleased with it .

Yeah, its the smallest most 2-stroke looking 250F motor out there. I assume its a dry sump that uses the trans as an oil tank. Local dealer says they have been good and none have blown up yet. Is this motor also in the TXC or just the TC? Keep us posted.
