Default New 13 XC300R, What is Best Jetting.

Just picked up a new XC 300R from Mort's Powersports in Mobile, Alabama.
John the owner is a great guy and has been very helpful trying to help me get the bike dialed in, I have had the bike for 2 months and have put 10 hours on it. I will be riding mainly South Alabama Woods, Tight, Technical, Roots, Sandy, Hills and mud. I am 40 years Young, I have only been back riding for 1 year after a 7 year break, I raced in SERA Southern Enduro Riders,
in my late 20s early 30s. before that I rode alot but not raced.
I am 6ft 200 lb
South Alabama: Hot, Humid, Sea Level.
So far:
Main Jet: 172
Pilot Jet: 40
Airscrew: 1.5
Needle stock in the top clip, and second clip
Slide; stock

Fuel: 93 octane 100% unleaded, (no corn) 44to1 Golden Spectro.
Thinking of change to Amsoil dominator 50to1? Any Thoughts?

I have been fouling out plugs and plug looks pretty black when I pull it. 2nd clip runs good off the bottom through the mid but sputters aliitle going into wot. Top or 1rst clip is clean wot but seems to be lacking a little torque in the mid and bottom.

If anyone has experiance with this bike I would like to know what fuel and oil
ratio plus jetting has worked best for you?

Suspension seemed very ridgid at first, bounced in the rear over roots and square edges, divey in the front end going into corners.
Changed back tire to Michilin sc12xc (much better than stock)
Rear Shock Ohlins 888: backed off rear spring preload 2 turns, low speed compression 14 clicks out,
rebound 14 clicks out,
Front Forks: Marzocchi 48mm recieved with pfp all the way out. I Turned in 1.75 turns.
Compression 16 clicks out, Rebound 14 clicks out.
Seems alot better than stock but i like it soft and plush. I will call Evan at
Solid Performance, when i am ready for service and revalve, Hopefully he can help me plushin it up. He seems to have some experiance with these forks and shock.
Allso moved bars to forward position. Cut 3/4 inch off both end of bars and added Cycra bark busters, Mounted light switch inside front number plate right above light.
Love the 300 POWER.
Bike Really promotes standing.
Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

pre-mix (there i started it) makes a difference. if you are not running WFO run some Amsol Dominator, Motul 710 or something with a lower burn off temp. the Motorex seems to be somewhere in between those two and Motul 800.

Tried out the amsoil dominator today rode about 20 miles, 2nd clip, bike felt a lot better all the way through the power curve, no hesitations, no sputter going into wot. The golden spectro was just to rich.
Hey Jakobi, I guess amsoil dominator is best for me! Where in Australia do you live? what is the riding like there? Also what type o fuel do you run in your bikes down there?

Hey Gibby. I'm in north queensland - tropics. Hot and humid almost all the time, but the riding is great. The fact that I can ride from home and be on the trails within 10mins is even better.

Default Fuel hard to find.

That is awesome! I have to load the bikes and drive at least 10 miles. but I have a nice 6 mile trail There woods, lots of trees, some nice woops, tight but some little opens along a powerline, very rural, deer country, I have always wanted to go to Australia, I was wondering
what type of fuel do you run and what are the trails like there?
The Only 93 octane, That is 100% is 1 hr drive and cost $4.50 a gallon. how about in Australia are they putting ethonal in the fuel There?

Sorry I only answered half your question. Was getting ready for work. I think you use MON in the states, in Aussie land of koala and skip we use RON. I pretty much use 98RON. I think its equivalent to your 93MON (just from a quick google search). No ethanol in that for us yet, however some places do offer ethanol blends for reduced prices. Its around $1.60-$1.70 a litre for 98RON.

My engines also been setup with a 14:1 uncorrected compression ratio. Stock engine was around 11.7:1
