Default Milky discharge out crank vent hose to airbox

Hello fellow 4-Strokers,

I'm having a problem with my 04 FSE 450 spitting really, really white/milky oil out of crank vent hose. it's like really milky white. I can post pics if needed, and it seems to only happen when I've been riding in high RPM's as well or slow trail work. Bike also backfires A LOT when warmed up and riding, and dies/stalls easy when it's hot. Any ideas? Did I over fill with oil? Should I also check air bleed screw and fuel trim?

It is still very cold here in Washington State, so maybe it's condensation? Also noticed some smoke come out of exahaust while trying to start bike again then it goes away.

Thanks,

Crankin04

The white stuff is an emulsion of water and oil. Most likely you have a failed water pump impeller that also will take out the water pump seal. Most likely you will need to replace impeller and seal. And flush out your crankcase.

Gasgas used plastic impeller's till 2005. LT Racing makes, or did make a really good metal aftermarket impeller for your year. I have a brand new one still in box if interested. GoFaster's probly still have them too, along with the seal. Easy fix.

Sweet. I hope that's all it is. Flybars, we should meet up sometime. Let me know when your avaliable? I would like to purchase that from you, If I can investigate and see that the impeller is the problem.

Thanks,

If it is the water pump seal, then be sure to flush the engine well to get rid of the emulsion.
I've used diesel for this, filling up and doing 3 flushes to get rid of the emulsion, but wouldn't actually run it up with the diesel in it, just crank it over with the spark plug out for a while with each fill.

Some 4 stroke oils foam quite badly under extreme abuse, I ended up using belray thumper oil to minimise this.

Could it be a head gasket? Water getting in the combustion chamber could cause the crappy running. A simple compression test should tell the story.

Remove exhuast header, there will be water in there or liitle droplets in the exhuast port, if there is head gasket blown, or water is coming from impeller seal, whatever it is white oil = water and oil mix, drop engine oil if its not milky its must be condesation from very cold enviroment, then forget about it.

Is their another way to flush out your crankcase besides just letting out all the oil in the frame and bottom of engine? By the way when I drain oil it is not milky or white. It is normal engine oil look.

Thanks,
