Clutch Hub Tool
How many of you guys own a clutch hub holder tool? Used to remove and install the hub holder/holder basket?
What other tool or ideas have you used as a substitute? I get the whole idea of using the correct tool for the job......but other alternatives are out there? I've heard of using a penny between the gears.....copper being soft and not damaging? Thanks

I have the proper tool for my Gasgas, but not for all other motors that I work on.
As a substitute for a tool, I use a rag between the gears if the motor is out of the frame. If not, I try to lock it by putting it into high gear and use the rear brake. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Just hold it with your hand and use an impact gun. Wearing a leather glove makes it easier.

I use 1/2 impact gun to loosen and those common gray work gloves between gear teeth to torque nut. You'll need to have primary cover removed to access gear teeth.

I made a pair of "scissors" out of two pieces of 1/8"X1" flat bar. Bent the ends 90 degrees and bolted them together. The other end has 5/16" (8mm) bolts to hold flywheels in place. Multi tool!

I use a 3/8" drive impact. It has a max torque of 75 ft pounds.

I like that Tusk tool as it can do clutch as well as flywheel. I believe my BiL has it and is pleased with its usability.

Here is what I use.
Large C clamp vise grips with the clamps removed and Grade 8 bolts. With my old CRF I bolted an old clutch steel plate to it and that worked awesome. I use impact to remove and then this tool and torque wrench to tighten. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
