Default 2004 EC200 Gas Tank Looks Small

I have a 2004 EC200 and the gas tank looks small compared to all the other GGs bikes in our riding group. It looks smaller on the top by the gas cap and where it bolts to the frame. The photos are below a few posts. I have not seen a MC version but I might guess that it would have a smaller tank. Has anyone else seen this and does anyone know how much these smaller tanks hold?

There was only one fuel tank in 2004. They did come with different caps however. Are you sure the other guys don't have aftermarket tanks?

Post up a pic.

This one has the traditional GG screw on vented gas cap but the top portion of the tank does not extend above the seat. Maybe the previous owner swapped it out with another GG tank. I will post a picture tonight.

Here are the photos. The smaller one even bolts into a different hole in the frame.

Your first pic is the same style tank that came on my 05 DE250 (and the same as a 05 EC300 that's sitting in my shop right now). Second pic is the same style that came on my 02 model XC250, and if I remember correctly was what was on the 03 EC models I used to have.

Thank you for the info. Do they have the same capacity?

Zman, I never measured them. But everything appeared to be the same except the area right at the top where the older one is obviously a little bigger.
