I can't remember if they came with the camera or the extra parts I ordered but the little white rubber locks are worth their weight... the locks not only locks the snap mechanism but also stops it from vibrating. I found you have to watch the branches hitting the lens if you have it mounted to your helmet too. They will scratch the lens. Get some RainX and put it on the lens if it rains or you get some mud on the lens it won't stick.

I smacked mine off a few branches this weekend and it stayed on! Actually I find it hard to get off the helmet sometimes.

I've got mine mounted like rbm33 with no problems. I like the vantage point (you still see the bars, hands and fender) more than if you chest mount is and it stays out of the way pretty well. I've got a buddy who mounts his upside down under the visor, GPro has a software function to record this way so it comes out looking normal. He says he can't barely see it there, it's shaded and partially protected from rain with no mods to the helmet; that's the next location I'll try.

I set my clip on the mouthpiece up so the camera has to break the clip force and move upwards an inch to release, not likely unless I have a big get-off or faceplant on the bars....branches are nowhere near the issue they are for a side mount but you have to watch your words....the mic is just in front of your mouth for the "oh s*!t" moments....

Default Mouthpiece

Thanks, if you could show me what you're doing I'd appreciate it
Also do you have any video posted that shows how it looks from there?
Thanks again

Helmet side mounts are everywhere on Utube. I've seen Vids on helmet mount on the chin works great. But you still get lots of head movement.
I found the best (if you are not mounting it on your bike somewhere) is on your Chest Protector. Always facing forward, no head movement, get to see lots of the bike, standing or sitting.

XC 300.... Chest Protector

GreenStones Mtn.... Side of Helmet

Snow Ride.... Side of Helmet

Scuitto Flats Kamloops .... Rear Fender of Bike

We had to go pros go missing last year from the side mount goggle position, that's why I wanted to try the liquid image goggles. I'm going to give them a go this weekend and see how the ride goes. The go pro makes nice vids though for sure but boy would it suck to lose one
