Default Reusing piston rings

I wanted to try swapping base gaskets to tighten up the squish a little on my '10 300. I have about 40 hours on the bike total and at this point, I don't feel that it needs a top end yet.

Would there be really an issue with swapping out gaskets then using the old piston rings?

I would get new gaskets and head o-rings if I did this. GG wants $78 just for rings.. If I absolutely cannot use the old rings, I would just wait until top end time comes around and do it then. Thanks!
