sound of the engine
Hi all!
please, listen to the sound of the engine this is a normal sound? I think the wrong sound at low revs 0:38 sec and 1:45 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE-j6pc74cw

Has it only just started doing it? How many hours on the bike? Ever had a top end/rings? Does it feel super soft/weak power off the bottom? Like you have just lost a lot of grunt? If it was running strong and just started doing this I'd start with the simple things. Pipe off, check the power valve is in the closed position (attachment 1) Use the kick starter to roll the piston over and check the rings for blow by (attachment 2). If the powervalve isn't in the right position report back and we'll go from there. Snap some pics if you can. They always help |

Very good call! That choke will do it every time. Best $13 I spent on the bike was replacing it with a traditional plunger.

1, it already was when I bought the bike in the summer 2011 2, 10 - 15 hours after the change of the piston 3, I changed the piston and rings (and other parts), raised the needle one notch 4, I feel a loss power off the bottom 5, I'm sorry I do not understand what it means((( now riding at -10 degrees Celsius (14 F) - everything works fine, the sound was gone, the bike pulls very well the engine behaves badly when -20 degrees Celsius (-4F) These are my jetting Throttle valve/slide = 7 N1EF (2nd clip) main jet 180 pilot jet 40 air screw setting - 2.5 turn out I think I should change to smaller jets sorry for my bad English(

Does it feel the same as when you try to take off without warming the bike up properly? Have you tried pulling the choke on when its acting up to see if it helps. Does it do behave this way every time you get to -20C? Did you try turning the Air Screw in to richen the pilot? As it gets colder the engine will want more fuel. If it only happens when its colder out it could be telling you something. |
