my o4 was doing this, chewing bearings like nothing else.
check your axel for straightness.... mine had a bend in the middle, no idea how that can happen unless it was like that from the factory or a previous owner used it for a jimmy bar...... it also flogged out the bearing recesses so now i need a new rear hub...
