What is your set up Glenn? Your conditions would be very similar to mine. Maybe more elevation.

AS1 38mm carb
elevation 0 - 1300'

180 main
48 pilot (spring/fall)
45 pilot (summer)
JD Blue #3
#7 slide
AS 1.5 - 1.75 turns out

RBD head mod, compression 192 PSI
stock GG pipe/silencer

This bike has always been a ripper, I think it just went together with the right tolerances at the factory.

2011 EC 250. AS11 38mm
#7 slide
N3EJ 2nd CP
45 pilot
178 main
AS 1 3/4 - 2 turns

I was running with a 42 pilot and the needle on the 3rd clip, but idle was not great and it spooged like a slobbering fool. Idle is much better now and it seems to have some more zip off idle in the drive way. I will try it in the woods tomorrow and see how it goes. May try a 48 pilot too. Air screw could still have better effect on idle.

What temp and alt?

I just set up my carb with N3CJ#3 and will start with a 45 pilot and 178 main. I expect it to be a touch rich all over but being the first time touching it as a 250 I'd rather start safe. Thanks for the help everyone!

0 to 1200 feet. 10 to 20 degrees C. Last couple days has been cold, around 5 degrees C. I think my needle is just one step richer than yours is it not Jake?

No worries. You guys are helping me a lot more than I am helping you. I wish that I had read this far into it when I was trying to set up the 144. I had it working good, but it would fowl plugs a few times a season.

The N3EJ is a half a clip richer than the N3CJ. (N3EJ#2 = N3CJ#2.5)

So does that mean my needle could be made the same as the other with a clip shim?
