Ohlins shock advice

Hi

I bought a used ohlins shock for my 2009 300 , after fitting it and transporting bike to a trail ride noticed oil leaking from shock , so i sent it back to the shop along with my forks as the forks were in for a revalve.
The first trip i did after they were rebuilt the shock is leaking oil again , im presuming a new seal was fitted when the shock was serviced , is there anything else that would cause it to leak , warn bushes. Maybee. , what dou you guys in the know think.
I once bought a new ohlins for a superbike and that blew the seal pack in a short time after fitting , that was rebuilt and it blew again the first ride out , when it went back they found the rod was slightly bent , so replaced that and it was all good from then on

It certainly sounds like an oil seal that has been incorrectly fitted or it's not a new one.

Who did you send the shock to ??
Get on the blower and advise them that if the dont sort it out this time you'll have a full refund and take it to another ohlins service centre.

Take it to another ohlins service centre and get a second opinion

Ohlins uses a simple X-ring in the seal head. Its metric of course, but very close to a standard size. One time LTRs supplier decided the standard part was close enough, and repeated failures were the result. So, either the ring wasn't replaced, damaged during replacement, wrong part, or the shaft is damaged.

Thanks all , it's going back this week so I'll no doubt find out , maybee it would be better if it's u/s then I can put the refund towards a 2012 ec300😍
