Default 2011 EC250 top end

I have 90 hrs on the bike. Still runs strong but have decided to do a top end. Should I do rings only or should I replace the piston and rings. The bike isn't torn down yet of course so I haven't inspected anything. Just wondering what others are doing. And where should I buy the kit? Gofasters is way $$$$$...rediculous!

90hrs is time, do the piston and rings. You should be able to find a Vertex kit for less than $150. Same as a TM250.

Yhup! Like he said. While you're in there hit em both up. It only costs a bit more to replace the slug while you're in there. Saves you digging back in and costing more in time and gaskets later down the track. I went with the Wossner forged piston and rings in my 300.

If you haven't done anything to the squish/gasket stack now is the time to take some measurements. You'll want the top of the piston flush with the bottom of the exhaust port at BDC for best port timing. Softer bottom and more revs up top. You then want to bring the squish down to somewhere between 1.3 - 1.8mm. Smaller is more performance orientated.

Thanks. Where can I order a piston kit? Vertex not listed for 2011? Where can I order the Wossner from? I can only find a piston kit for 2011s on gofasters and the cost is $400+. No way!

Call Gofasters. I am pretty sure that they have options for you.

Yeah any GG dealer will be able to get the parts in for you.

From memory I think it cost me about $250aud for piston rings clips and all the gaskets.

Looks like North Tahoe has top end kit and gaskets for 199 on ebay....
No personal experience with them, others may have.
