Default 2015 marzocchi 48 changes

The 15s fork are very smooth, and felt different but similar to my 13 in stock form.

Relief taper from factory

Bushings are rolling like all other brands, see wear mark

Different rod and no shim baseplate.

Different spring seat that moved way easier

The cart appeared easier to bleed and didn't gurgle when turned upside down and stroked.

New base valve stack

12 .1
32 .15x2
26 .25 (no, that's not a typo)
24 .1
22 .1
20 .1
18 .15
11 .2x2

I went to:
24.1
32.15x3
26.25
16.1
24.1
22.1
20.1
18.1
11.2x2

It stops the late spike, and has the whole stack moving quicker, better grip and much better square edge performance.

I'd bet my bile duct that the mid is softer and rebound firmer than previous, so far no need to touch, may need to up the springs though.

Interesting. Same stacks as '14 with the exception of the 26.25 obviously. Spring seat looks the same too and mine are always falling down when I'm trying to bleed them. Good to see the factory is listening and machining reliefs into the bush landing now, that saves $100 off the revalve bill.
Given you're the same weight as me I'll be watching this with interest. My forks were pretty good last ride, really showed the shock up as being too soft, especially in LSC.

The cut out on that spring seat looks pretty shady Simmo. I hope you cleaned it up a bit.

Good to see they've obviously been listening to whats been said and making some changes. Wish mine weren't rooted during the development process, but what can you do.

They were all like it, as if they were hand done to larger spec, it is a bummer about your forks, but you get to learn all about kyb I suppose. Sone sort of consolation.

True that Mick! Just gotta set some time aside to open the KYBs up. Probably should do that soon. On holidays again in a week, so if the stars align the parts should arrive and I should be able to put some seat time down and get them fine tuned. Braap.

Does look like the spring perches were hand worked. I'd just clean the burred edge a little. I don't like what a small amount of swarf can do (not that it should rub on anything once assembled, but never the less).

Be interested to see what mid changes they've implemented.

I've got a set of '13s on the bench right now that has the land relief and the witness marks on the back of the bushings. The spring seat cut-outs were gnawed by a rabid gopher on these as well.

There are some other characteristics that I need to run to ground but I'll share them when I get them sorted.

What is actually the purpose of the relief on the bush landing? To stop it binding in case there is a tiny lip there pushing the bush outwards?
