Klaus. You are correct the old settings do not apply to the new pwk's as the float bowl is shallower on the newer versions, looks like the latest rm 250 carb's minus tps. Anybody know off hand the revised setting?

Out of interest in the possible new erraticness - did you increase or decrease fuel level?

increased float height, therefore decreased fuel height in bottom of carb...this is why I'm thinking now not quite enough in bowl when ticking over...poss ???

Dunno, was just wondering if fuel height has much effect on idle. I can see how it could be effected but not sure if that would exhibit as erratic rather than just faster or slower or stalling.

Just pulled my float apart and measured 6.5mm on a brand new carb, 11 EC300 never ridden. I did notice that it dribbled a little bit when on the sidestand with a full float bowl. I bent the tab slighty to raise the float height to 8mm, hoping that this will clean up a spilling fuel issue. Checking the Keihin website I came up with a float height of 6.5 mm for the PWM carb, whick I think is right considering they still speck 16mm for the old screw top air striker. Gonna try a break-in ride tomorrow and see if there is a fuel starvation issue however I don't expect a lot of WOT.

Bike ran great today with a 8mm float level. Doesn't piss fuel at all when leaned over on the side stand or anything like that. Bike still is quite thirsty though. I'm gonna leave the float height as is.

Hey Tman where did you end up riding? I almost got out today but I had some things I couldn't get out of...maybe tomorrow.

Dew Drop, past Lac Du Bois PP. Very limited trails but some hills to play on and no snow unless you go high. The trees are spaced enough that a guy can 'freeride' through the area too.
