Rear hub bearings keep crushing
Hi all. I keep crushing rear wheel bearings on my 2015 ec250. After checking the exploded diagram i am missing the spacer that goes between the larger bearing and the smaller bearing on the drive side. Bit of history with the wheel. I bought the bike without the spacer that goes in the hub and someone had completely bodged it and somehow managed to get 2 bearings either side of the hub. It was also missing the spacer the brake side. Anyway, The spacer that goes through the hub is also loose in there. Don't know if that's meant to be loose.
Any help greatly appreciated Thanks Nick |
On all other bikes I've done bearings on they just float.

The shim between the two drive side bearings is critical, the centre spacer should be a snug fit so the bearing centres are not pulled in when the axle nut is done up.

^^^^^If that's correct the answer is that it moves up and down slightly as it just "floats in the centre. I may be wrong about my interpretation. |
I was actually asking both those questions. I'll order up one of them shims for between the drive side bearings. Thanks boys

Yeah the spacer often sticks to one of the bearings covered in grease and dirt so if you don't know it is there it will get lost. I had to turn one up took a couple of tries to get thickness right.
