Low charge at idle ?

Anybody know what the current should be over the terminals at idle ?
I figure mine isn't enough and is causing the bike to cut out due to the battery not charging enough.
The regulator has been changed and it does give decent current at mid throttle but when at idle it shows no charge what so ever.
Where should I look next ?
