Default Gear oil draining issue

Hi all,
Riding a 2013 EC 125, 45 motor hours.
Doing the gear oil change myself every 15 h.
1st change went well.
The 2nd, only 400 cc went in before it leveled so assumed I didn't drain well.
The 3rd I measured what was comming out and only 400cc came out.
This is after warming the engine, leveling it, moving left right forward back for 10 min!!!
When refilling, only 400cc got in before leveled.

Anyone experienced this?
Any help appreciated!

No idea what the spec capacity is for the 125, but I would be inclined to find out the volume, drain the cases as best you can and fill by volume (not to sight glass). Then next service drain and measure and you should be getting roughly the same amount out as you put in.

Speculating on capacity here, but 550-700 cc pretty standard depending on small bore 2t.
I'm a big believer in gut feeling on these kinds of things. If you think more oil should be draining out of the case to completely change the fluid, probably right.

You can take the clutch cover off and have a look.Depending on design,it could get you nearly flush to the lower level in that case half.Might get you a look in there, could be some clutch sludge blocking a passover passage. The engine may be designed with some baffling to keep the oil more contained in strategic areas.

Could be something as simple as another plug.
I drain the oil out of the clutch cover side about every 3rd change. That's the dirty side of the engine and a lot of crap gets hung up in that half.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the answers.
Sorry for not specifying, but the spec capacity is 750cc, this means almost half is not draining out.
Sweeper, I will try opening the clutch, see what is going on there. Thanks.
