All posts have been helpful, thanks!

Always ran the bike on the rich side.

Inside the cylinder around the exhaust port there is some discoloration. I cannot detect a change in texture with my finger

There also might be scrapes on the cylinder ?

Between the replate and small chunks of the piston missing (presumably down in parts of the motor where they shouldn't be) I'm gonna part it out

Thanks to all!

Why on earth would you part it out? Is the rest of the bike clapped out? That's not that big of a fix and your concerns of bits and pieces is most likely null. Any pieces were more than likely spit out the exhaust port and long gone by now. That bike could be back in the dirt for less than $300.

No, its in good shape. Only 50 hrs on it. I don't feel like putting the effort and $ into getting it back up and running and mods to get it to run like my wife's 200XC. I suspect I'm all done with GG

Throw it in a suit case and come for a holiday

No doubt the postage would be killer.
