Default AIR FILTER BOX RUBBER and CARB Fitting (ec200 2011 sixd)

When I removed the expansion ch. I saw that the fitting of the carb was very poor. I tried to correct it by removing the air filter and loosing the clamps both front and back of the carb. I could not fit it!!!! It seems that the air filter box is not long enough and anyway not "quite right".
The part number on the rubber box was "BE2501280017". In the gasgas parts list I have the p.n. is somewhat different. "BE250128017/2"
Are you aware of a change in the part in order to address this issue?

Its well documented. The best result I have found is to remove the air filter completely, loosen the top swingarm bolts, and remove the lower swing arm bolts. Remove the silencer/expansion chamber (or both). Then swing the whole subframe up. Remove the airboot from the airbox. It'll come out like a large gromet. Drop this part into a bucket of warm/hot water for a little while until it slightly softens. Then quickly install back into place and fit on the carb.

The other option is to just use a bit of heat from a hair dryer or heat gun to soften up the part you need and stretch it over some more.

So I'm not the only one with this issue!!!
The solution with the air gun is what I thought too. I will go that way but I'll try to find out if the difference in part numbering means something.
Thanks again jakobi!!!!!

I had the same problem with my 2011. I went the more extreme route and replaced the stock carb with the lectron carb which is about 7mm longer. I'm sure the heat gun will do the trick also.

Has yours got the plastic spacer on the carb Rick?

Mine never did and was a much better fit than the photo above.
