Six speed in an older GasGas?
This is the problem I have when I'm not at work.. I can always think of a new and expensive thing to look into. So, what I'm wondering, is if it's possible to drop the transmission assembly from a newer gasser into my 2001 EC 300 and have a six speed. How much taller would this make the gearing in top gear, assuming stock sprocket sizes?
I'd love to hear the thoughts on this from much more knowledgeable gas gas owners than me. |

Ummm... your tranny must be broken, the '01 EC300 came with a 6 speed.

The MC models had a 4 speed transmission.
Some model year transmissions won't swap out. |

So, it's definitely a six speed. I just never counted and I feel like I'm always grabbing for a 7th and 8th gear with 13/50 sprockets. Last edited by GGRider01; 11-11-2015 at 03:21 AM. |
